Yuliia Koval"Form me there is only one necessity in live, to paint."
Yuliia Koval was born in Ukraine in 1979. She visited the art college in Kiev and later studied at the technical university of Kiev graphic and pictorial art. Since 1999 she has been working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. In 2002 Yuliia Koval moved to Munich to study painting from Prof. Jerry Zeniuk at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste. Since her gradution in 2008 her work wasdisplayed in numerous exhibitions in Germany, Ukraine, Austria and Switzerland. As a member of the artist group Rythm Section, her work was exhibited in the Hubei Museum of Art in China and at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in Singapore. In 2011 and 2012 Yuliia Koval has been selected for the Bavarian artist studio support.
Yuliia Koval got to painting through illustration and graphic design, which is perhaps the reasons why her painting is intensively preoccupied with color. She fights for and focuses on color. In her work she lets the image carrier and the applied colors communicate with each other. She lets it happen and intervenes where she thinks is necessary. Yuliia Koval calls it a fight between guiding and letting things happen.
