Chris Roemer

Chris Roemer’s photographies display different moments of everyday scenes. During his study-visit in New York and his travels along the east cost of the US, the series New York, Perfect World and Workers at Night were created. He captured the various impressions of his experiences with his camera which resulted in gigantic and overwhelming as well as tender and quiet pictures.

Born in 1988, Chris studied media art and media design at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Thereby he focused on film and photography. A scholarship in 2013 led him to one of the renowned art academies: the Pratt Institute in New York.

The media artist doesn’t let himself to be constrained by specific techniques or a particular choice of motives, but demonstrates a rather unfiltered and casual view of the world in his photographs. Analogue photographies of absurd tourist hot spots are equally presented next to digital images of unknown corners in New York.
