Andreas Stiller

There’s more to the picture than meets the eye.

Andreas Stiller was born in Berlin in 1965. In 1987 he started his five years‘ studies of sculpture at the Emerson College in south England. First he worked as a traditional sculptor, using mainly wood and stone for his pieces. A few years later he added light installations to his portfolio. From 1994 to 2000 Stiller worked as an art teacher in Graz and graduated as an art-therapist in Nürtingen. After a short intermezzo, where the artist experimented screen printing, he now dedicates his artistic vision entirely to painting.

Pablo & Paul presents two different body of work by the artist. Over a long period of time Andreas Stiller created abstract paintings. The earthy tonal scale and the clear lines of COPPERTONE refer, as his fire paintings, to his sculpture made in wood and stone.  Since 2012 Andreas Stiller works on his DIAPOSIIV series. This series of paintings are inspired by family album pictures and show a discomforting illusory world.
