Alescha Birkenholz

Alescha-Thomas Birkenholz captures daily, seemingly unnoticed and often missed moments with his camera and tries to revalue these subtle and short-lived moments.

Alescha was born in 1972 in Munich and studied history of art, philosophy and psychology before he became a photographer. His works have been shown in multiple expositions in Germany as well as Switzerland und he was nominated for the renowned Lead Award.

In 2010 he titled his complete works Arat – “another rock, another tree”. Alescha doesn’t even try to reinvent the wheel but rather presents the often overlooked beauty of the everyday life moments in his works. The poetic gentle images display the space in which we move and the traces we leave behind from a new perspective.
